The ringing I suspect is your mic picking up it's own signal in a loop and feeding back. Your devices will show as something different of course, but should be darn similar and pretty obvious.ĬptTripps Czar of Turd Polish Member Since: 11:07 am Glad to hear it works at least, thought I was going to have to write a flowchart :) Start a session and select your mono input (USB Mic) and just leave the output on master as it should auto select your default windows stereo sound (realtek etc.), you may want to check just in case. Verify that your playback soundcard and your recording device (usb mic) have their boxes checked. Select "Audition 3.0 Windows sound" in the audio driver dropdown.Ĥ. I was using the wireless headset from my xbox360 with the windows wireless adapter so I'm guessing you will have better results :) Setting my buffer low enough to capture audio in sync almost destroyed my little xbox mic (only usb mic I have) :)įound that nothing needs to happen in vista volume\sound panel.Ģ. Input on each track would be the USB mic and out would be Stereo 1 (or something like that).ĬptTripps Czar of Turd Polish Member Since: 09:52 pm Tried it, and hated it, but it worked. Now tell Audition to use the "Adobe Audition 3.0 Windows Sound" and see if that works for you. Depending on your OS (xp\vista) the process will be a tad different, let me know if you need help with that. Configure your windows sound to playback through your speakers and record through your USB mic. You could switch to windows hardware after all tracking is done for playback\mixing.Ģ. This would cover tracking while playing back previous tracks. Does your mic have a headphone out on it like many other USB mics? If so, select the mic for your audio hardware and plug in some phones. With windows audio selected you will not be able to record while listening to previous tracks (in my knowledge).ġ. With the mic selected you will not be able to listen to tracks you previously recorded while recording new ones. The problem with this, your interface (USB mic in your case) needs to be able to handle input and output signals or you will constantly find yourself switching between sound cards. Thing is, 1.5 would allow you to configure multiple sound cards and 3.0 will not as it is geared for ASIO (which 1.5 did not support).
